The Lasers
Cold lasers are often used for acupuncture and auricular therapy , with the 904nm laser beam stimulating the body's acupoints rather than needles. This treatment regimen has been used on cancer patients for pain management and for a list of pain related conditions seen below. The 904nm wavelength is ideal for reaching both shallow and deep acupuncture points with adjustable frequencies for your intended use. Laser acupuncture may be combined with regular needle acupuncture at the same time with other forms of energy medicine (e.g., homeopathy, Chinese herbs, etc), and with medications such as anticonvulsants and antidepressants in chronic pain management, thereby reducing their dosage.
Discussion:
No doubt, the FDA will continue to approve the use of lasers for a variety of conditions (recently, a laser company in the United States received approval for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome). There are FDA guidelines that govern the use of low-level lasers as an investigational device, as well as state regulations. The FDA classifies low-level lasers as class IIIB non-significant risk devices.
