The LaserMD system is designed to quickly reduce and relieve pain. Pain related conditions primarily focus around muscle, joint or nerve pain.
Bio Med lasers placed against the skin send photons of light into the tissues and
are absorbed in the mitochondria. The light stimulates the mitochondria
and produces a large amount of ATP. This increase in ATP and laser light
simulating the cell membrane produces various physiological effects. These
physiological changes affect a variety of cell types including macrophages,
fibroblasts, endothelial cells and mast cells.

Wavelength:
Diverse cell types in the body all have their own light absorption characteristics or chromophores; that is, each type of tissue will absorb light at a specific wavelength -- not all wavelengths.
Researchers, like Dr. Tina Karu, have identify specific wavelengths that best effect chromophores on the following tissue
Skin Conditions: Dr Karu found that 613.5, 625.5 and 660nm

Muscles, Ligaments, Tendons: Dr Karu found that from 820nm - 830nm
Nerves, Bones, Spin & Cartalige: 900nm - 910nm

Power to Heal:
Power is the rate at which photon energy (laser light) is emitted and expressed in miliwatts (1Watt = 1,000mW). The higher the power, the more light to stimulate the mitachondria and the deeper the depth of penetration.
Energy Density:
The right wavelength matched with the right power deliver results quickly allowing you to treat more patients. For the LaserMD system, we use the following power settings:
- 660nm, 50mW - is powered to deal with all skin related conditions
- 830nm, 200mW - 400mW - muscle, ligament, tendon conditions
